A small water leak may not seem like an emergency at first, but in an unattended home, it can become a serious problem very quickly. What starts as a slow drip under a sink, behind an appliance, near a water heater, or around an HVAC system can lead to significant damage if no one is there to notice it.
Within a short period of time, water can begin soaking into cabinets, drywall, flooring, baseboards, and other materials. If the leak continues, moisture can spread into areas that are not immediately visible. In Southwest Florida, where heat and humidity are already high, that extra moisture can also create ideal conditions for mold and mildew.
The longer a leak goes unnoticed, the more extensive the damage can become. Flooring may begin to warp, drywall can stain or weaken, cabinets can swell, and water may reach electrical components or neighboring rooms. In condos and attached homes, a leak can sometimes affect surrounding units as well.

If we discover something that requires attention, the homeowner is contacted as quickly as possible and provided with photos and information about what we found. With authorization, we can also help coordinate access for plumbers, restoration companies, insurance adjusters, inspectors, or other service providers.
A Home Watch visit cannot guarantee that every leak will be prevented, but discovering a problem sooner can make a major difference in how much damage occurs.
